Run, Read &
Rockathon for "Tomorrow's Runners" Jackie is one of our AARC Fun Runners (who has also fared well in local races), and is a teacher at Stackpole Elementary School in Upper Southampton. Jackie ran a program for 2nd and 3rd grade students to inspire them to read as if they were in a race, and called it the "Run, Read, and Rock-athon." |
To make it even more "Marathon-like" for the children, Jackie got race bib/numbers from the Ambler Area Running Club, and distributed them to the "read-a-thon" children who participated. The event was a huge success, and the notes from the children, some of which are shown below, express their enthusiasm for the event more eloquently than anything we could write... |
