Unsolicited Endorsement from a Happy Runner |
To Fellow AARC Members: I have been a member for a few years now. Unfortunately, an Achilles injury has severely limited my activity until this past December. I wanted to re-engage by participating in the winter fun runs but I was concerned about the running conditions. I've now run on numerous Monday nights and Thursday nights, and discovered that my concerns were completely unwarranted. My biggest surprise was the condition of the streets that make up the course. They are all newly paved and I have yet to see one pot-hole. The lighting is excellent and drainage is more than adequate. As a final bonus, I have met fellow runners who share my enthusiasm and passion about running. As advertised, there are variable distances (from 4 miles up to 7 miles) and variable paces (from 7 minute miles to 10 minute miles). Also, I was pleased to see that no one runs alone. Since the weekday runs have more than met my expectations, I decided to give the Saturday morning run a try. Although the course is totally different the running conditions are still excellent. I would urge all members to give the Fun Runs a try! You will be welcomed with open arms. Ed |
